Elvin Jacob Schroyer

Elvin Jacob Schroyer, 92, of Middletown, MD, passed away Friday, February 9, 2018 at Fahrney-Keedy Memorial Home of Boonsboro, MD. Born Tuesday, June 16, 1925 in Ellerton, MD, he was the son of the late Jacob Howard Schroyer and Mary Rosana (Palmer) Schroyer. He attended Middletown Schools. He was a proud, hardworking famer and retired from the Maryland State Roads Department. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Middletown. Elvin is survived by his wife of 69 years, Dorothy R. (Wolf) Schroyer, son, Robert Schroyer and wife Liz, daughter, Jean Myers and husband Herb, sister, Leah Schroyer, grandchildren, Matt Myers, Mary Garganta, Melissa Lewis, Jessica Schroyer and Aaron Schroyer, great-grandchildren, Daniel and Grace, daughter-in-law, Tammy Schroyer, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by son, Harold Schroyer, brother, Russell Schroyer and sister, Naomi Moser. There will be no viewing. Services will be held Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at 1:00pm at Zion Lutheran Church, Middletown, MD, with Pastor Ronald Reaves officiating. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12-1pm, one hour prior to the service.
