Mabel A. (Souders) Wolfe

Mabel A. Wolfe, 89, of Wolfsville, MD, passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at her daughter’s home in Waynesboro, PA. Born Wednesday, June 6, 1928 in Smoketown, MD, she was the daughter of the late David and Mary Ellen (Shaw) Souders. She was preceded in death by her husband Victor Monroe Wolfe, August 30, 2011. She was a graduate of Mt. Lena School. She was a member of Salem United Methodist Church of Wolfsville. Mabel is survived by daughter, Victoria E. McCormick, son, Jerry D. Wolfe and wife Nancy, step-son, Rodney V. Wolfe, grandchildren, Julie Long and husband Ed, Beth Wheeler and husband Nelson, Amy McCormick, David Wolfe and wife Brittany, Tyler Wolfe and wife Mitzi, Rachel Hardy and husband Danny, great grandchildren, Ryan MacPherson, Madeline and Connor Long, Victor and Paul McCormick, Thomas and Megan Wheeler. Also, nieces, nephews and many extended family. She was the youngest daughter and last surviving member of her family’s generation having been preceded in death by fifteen brothers and sisters. She was also predeceased by one son-in-law, Paul J. McCormick. Services will be held Monday, April 23, 2018 at 11:00am at Salem United Methodist Church, Wolfsville, MD, with Pastor Robert E. Snyder officiating. Burial will be in Wolfsville Reformed Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 22nd from 4-6pm at J.L. Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg, MD.
