DENISE (DENI) BUCKLEY Obituary

On Saturday, March 23rd, 2024, Ms. Deni Buckley passed from this life and joined her family waiting for her in heaven.
Comfort is brought to those who loved Deni, knowing that she is at peace and with her parents, her sister, and her beloved Oso.
Deni was born in Zuma, Japan, On October 9th, 1960. She was the daughter of the late Denis Patrick and Toshiko Matsuura Buckley.
Deni had a love for the outdoors. She enjoyed growing vegetables and the beauty of nature all around. Cooking shows were also a favorite, searching for all the inspiration and creativity that came with it. She was an avid reader and an artist.
She was employed by Westat of Gaithersburg and Frederick MD, where she made many lifelong friends, retiring in 2021.
Deni Was the last of her immediate family. Having been preceded by her parents and only sibling, Veronica (Lonnie). Raised as true Fredericktonians, Deni and Lonnie grew up as kids of Fort Detrick and Rosedale Park. As teens they would hang out at all the cool spots- Shookstown Store, The Reservoir, Village Lanes, and Poletos.
She graduated from Gov. Thomas Johnson High School with the class of 1978. Deni and her younger sister, Lonnie, Resided in Frederick until the passing of Lonnie in 2009 (Class of TJ 1980).
Deni Spent the next years in Tennessee with her lifelong friend, Debbie Allen. Once returning to Maryland, Deni Settled into Boonsboro where she enjoyed spending time with the Cordell family and oftentimes catching a quick lunch with old friends.
There are many things in life that Deni was proud of - Her family and friends were the most important. Departing from this life was sudden, but I believe Deni would take comforts in knowing that she was surrounded by those that loved her. Her wisdom and wit will live on through her special friends, Thomas and Linda Wood Cordell of Boonsboro, MD, Debbie Allen of Martinsburg, WV, and her sons, Joey of Frederick, MD and Josh of Martinsburg, WV. She will be remembered and always loved by her godchildren, Kelsey Mohelski (Travis) and Connor Cordell (Katelyn). Loving the grandchildren of her best friends, as her own, Lilly, Dominic, Tyler, Trevor, Wyatt, Miles, Caroline, and Cash will always have a special spot in their hearts for Deni.
There will be no service as she has chosen to be cremated and taken to a special spot with her sister.
Please sign the tribute wall and share a memory you have of Deni.
As a gesture to Deni, take a moment to breathe in fresh air and enjoy the beauty of the nature around us and remember her wonderful smile.
