Vickie (Boyd) Mowen of Waynesboro, Pa., passed away on Wednesday March 20, 2024, surrounded by her family.
Born August 13,1945 in Havre De Grace, Md., she was the daughter of the late William W. Boyd and Alice Elizabeth (Taylor) Boyd.
She was a 1963 graduate of Elkton Senior High School and attended Maryland Secretarial School in Hagerstown, Md.
Throughout her life she was employed at the Waynesboro Knitting Mill, Regency Thermographers, AAA travel, the Waynesboro Hospital, and as a business owner - Vickie Mowen Travel.
On March 9, 2002, she married Edgar H. Lecrone and they were happily married for 22 years.
Vickie was a member of the Waynesboro Presbyterian Church and served as Auxiliary Chaplin at Waynesboro American Legion Post 15. She was also a member of the Waynesboro Eagles Club and Waynesboro YMCA Sorority Y- Gradale.
Her hobbies included traveling worldwide with her husband, brother Bill Boyd and many friends, 500 rummy tournaments with family, reading, dining out and going to the movies. She loved gardening and feeding the birds. Her most cherished times were vacationing with family at the beach, camping at Raystown and cruising.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husband, Frank Delbert Mowen.
Vickie leaves behind her three children Stacy Mowen Raidt, Frank Eric Mowen (Brenda), Victor Sean Mowen (Jackie), stepson Christopher Lecrone (Kelly Martin), all of Waynesboro and her brother, William T. Boyd of Silver Spring, Md,
Remembering her love are seven grandchildren: Devin Guzzetta (Neikki) of California, Jesse Mowen (Katelyn), Carrie Mowen, McKenzie Raidt all of Waynesboro, Colby Mowen (Chelsey Kelley) of Chambersburg, Hunter Mowen and Dalton Mowen (Jenna Malone) of Nevada. She was blessed to enjoy four great-grandchildren.
We welcome family and friends to a graveside service on Thursday, March 28, 2024, at 12:00 pm at Green Hill Cemetery, 953 South Potomac St, Waynesboro, PA, followed by a Celebration of Life at the Waynesboro American Legion, 63 E. Main St. Waynesboro, PA.
