Bryan Bentz Obituary

Bryan Eugene Bentz, 60, of Thurmont, MD, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family, Thursday, January 3, 2019 at his home after a nearly two-year courageous battle with cancer. He was known as Miracle Man throughout the doctor’s offices. Born Tuesday, January 21, 1958 in Albuquerque, NM, he was the son of Mary (Smith) Bentz of Fairfield, PA, and the late Warren Eugene Bentz. He was a graduate of Walkersville High School. He was a member of Elks Lodge #684, Amvets Post #2, Moose Lodge #371, American Legion Post #11, Redmen Chippewa Tribe #19 and Fraternal Order of Eagles all of Frederick, MD, VFW Men’s Auxiliary, American Legion Post #96 of Brunswick, MD, and the United Steelworkers of America Local #07886. He was employed by Eastalcoa of Frederick for over 25 years and worked at UTZ Warehouse of Frederick. He loved to play golf and ride his Harley Davidson Motorcycle and was an avid dart player and pool player. Bryan is survived by his wife Diana L. (Miller) Bentz, son, Gabriel Bentz, Gabriel’s wife and children, daughter, Hope Burdette and husband Rick, grandchildren, Makayla and Ayden, sisters, Brenda King and husband Bruce and Beth Morgan, special friends, Mike and Ellen Batzer, Harvey R. Miller III, Kim and Mike Bray, Georgina Page, Richie and Suellen King, Joe and Stacie Mydlenski and their children Brianna and Logan, his close golf buddie “Team Big Dogs”, Gary Golden, Jim Pencola and Terry Flannery, his kitty Bubba and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one sister, Beverly Spahr and one grandson, Gavin. A celebration of life gathering will be held Saturday, January 19, 2019 from 2-4pm at Amvets Post #2, 702 E. South St. Frederick, MD, 21701. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in memory of Bryan Bentz to the James M. Stockman Cancer Institute 1562 Opossumtown Pike Frederick, MD 21702 or Amvets Post #2 of Frederick, MD. Arrangements were made by J.L.
