Donald Joseph Mong

Donald Joseph “DJ” Mong, 28, of Clear Spring, MD, passed away Saturday, June 23, 2018. Born Monday, December 25, 1989 in Hagerstown, MD, he was the son of Donald Eugene Mong and Renee Michelle Boward. He attended Smithsburg High School and enjoyed playing high school football. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and the Washington County Co-Ed Softball League. DJ was employed by Braguiner Masonry of Clear Spring and has worked on several area farms since the age 10. DJ is survived by his wife, Melisa Faye (Johnston) Mong, daughter, Ayona, sons, Jaden and Dakota, sisters, Nicole, Kayla, Karli, Kirstin and Glenna, brother, Taylor, maternal grandmother, Mildred Boward and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Merle Boward, paternal grandparents Sidney and Charlotte Mong and aunt, Barbara Winters. The family will receive friends Friday, June 29, 2018 from 6-8pm at J.L. Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg, MD. Burial will be private.
