Nancy Jane (Close) Cowder

Nancy Jane Cowder, 82, of Smithsburg, MD, passed away Saturday, January 26, 2019 at her home. Born Wednesday, May 20, 1936 in Lewistown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Edward Close, Jr. and Freda Evelyn (McKnit) Close. She was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Hagerstown, MD. Nancy is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Irvin E. Cowder, son, Daniel W. Cowder, daughter, Michelle J. Longanecker, granddaughters, Chasity D. Kline and Jasmine Longanecker, grandsons, Matthew Longanecker and Austin Kline, great-grandson, Gage Frye, nephews, Mike and Steve, niece, Judy and sister-in-law, Lorraine Close. She was preceded in death by one brother, Robert E. Close. A graveside service will be held Thursday, January 31, 2019 at 11:00am at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown, MD, with Elder Alan Robinson officiating. Arrangements were made by J.L.
