William "Bill" Pittsnogle Obituary

William Douglas “Bill” Pittsnogle, 70, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away Thursday, May 2, 2019 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center of Martinsburg, WV, after more than a year-long courageous battle with lung cancer. Born Thursday, September 23, 1948 in Martinsburg, WV, he was the son of the late Alma and Donald Pittsnogle. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Mae (Rouzer) Pittsnogle who passed away in 1990. He was a graduate of South Hagerstown High School. Bill was a veteran of the United States Army serving a one-year tour of duty in Pleiku, Vietnam. He had a few hobbies and interest, but he spent every possible moment of his time following his two grandsons, Dylan Pittsnogle who is in the United States Air Force and Damien Pittsnogle who plays baseball with KMS Baseball Academy. Bill was very proud of all his grandchildren and their activities. Bill is survived by sons, Douglas Paul Pittsnogle and Brian David Pittsnogle, son-in-law, Alexander “Alex” Sanchez Pena, daughter-in-law, Stacy Pittsnogle, grandsons, Dylan and Damien Pittsnogle, granddaughters, Courtney Cook and Kelly Cook, great-grandson, Casmeir Cook Robinson, brothers, Donald “Donnie” Pittsnogle and Ronald “Ronnie” Pittsnogle, his best friend of many years, Jason Middlekauff and several cousins, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Jerry Pittsnogle, Terry Pittsnogle and Michael “Mike” Pittsnogle. Services and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, 510 Butler Avenue, Martinsburg, WV, 25405. Arrangements were made by J.L.
