Candice Penny Snyder, 53, of Sharpsburg, MD, passed away Thursday, November 12, 2020 at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, MD.
Born December 12, 1966 in Ft. Rucker, Alabama, she was the daughter of Frances Louise “Fran” (Smoot) Nicklas of Hagerstown, MD, and the late Peter Reynolds Nicklas.
She was a graduate of South Hagerstown High School and received a certificate of hospitality management from Hagerstown Community College.
She was employed by I.B.M. of Rockville, MD, after high school and worked at Citi Corp in Hagerstown for 23 years.
Candice was a very kindhearted person and she enjoyed helping others in any way she could. She loved gardening, cooking, baking for her family, friends and especially her children and in her younger years canning. She had a passion for making jewelry and giving it to family members. She loved kids and animals, leaving behind her feline companions, Tiger, Brownie and Mama whom she rescued.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by sons, John Snyder, Jr. and Nicklas Snyder both of Hagerstown, daughter, Francy Snyder of Hagerstown, sisters, Leona Smith and husband Ken of Sharpsburg, Angelina Nicklas of Hagerstown, and Francy Millburn of Hagerstown, brother, Peter “Nick” Nicklas, Jr. of Hagerstown, special friend Harry Stotelmeyer, nieces, great niece and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by one nephew, David Lee Edwards, Jr.
A memorial service will be announced and held at a later date.
