EVELYN MELLOTT Obituary

Evelyn Margretta ‘Neana’ Mellott, 95, of Hagerstown passed away Friday May 12, 2023, at Doey’s House.

Born July 19, 1927, in Hagerstown Maryland, she was the daughter of the late William Henry and Margret Louise Baker-Rohrer.

She is survived by her daughter Cassandra ‘Candy’ Lea Baker (William) and sister Patricia Rohrer.

In addition, she is survived by four grandchildren, Karissa L. Barr (Dave) of Myrtle Beach SC, Kandi L. Escalade of Stokesville NC, Joseph R. Rulewich (Angie) of St Robert MO, and William H. ‘Billy’ Baker IV (Dodi) of Williamsport MD.

Great-grandchildren David Jr, Will, Noah, Corey, Delaney, Brady, CJ, Fiona, and Ritchie as well as nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Varden ‘Bill’ Mellott, daughter Cynthia ‘Cindy’ Mellott Rulewich, sisters Vivian Knode, Doris Eichelberger, Mary Files, and brothers Robert, Donald, and Richard Rohrer.

Neana loved her family, spending time with them, especially during Christmas which was her favorite holiday.

She was a wonderful cook and the family always looked forward to her Christmas turkey dinners.

She loved flowers and had a green thumb for gardening.

Neana was the biggest cheerleader for all of the many sports and baton twirling competitions her children and grandchildren were involved in.

Neana spent many years as an avid duckpin bowler and bowled a record-shattering 223 game at Long Meadow Bowl. Bolstered by six strikes and four spares, Neana posted the highest duckpin game ever rolled by a man or woman in The Hub City up until that time.

Private services and burial will be held at the convenience of the family.

Donations may be made in Neana’s honor to Hospice of Washington County, 1710 Underpass Way Ste 300, Hagerstown MD 21740.
