Faith Pauline Porter (Miles), 84 of Ringgold MD went to be with her Lord and Saviour on March 25, 2024. She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loving family.
Faith was born on June 11,1939 to Pauline and Rev. Charles Miles in Brunswick, MD.
She graduated in 1957 from Troy High School, Troy OH and attended Union Memorial Nursing School, Baltimore MD. She worked as a nursing aide at various facilities. She worked at Doubleday & Co. as a proofreader from 1977 until she retired.
She was a long-standing member of Smithsburg Valley Baptist Church. She served as a pianist and participated with a small group called "Power Pack". Her main ministry later in life was sending cards and notes to those who were lonely and in need of encouragement because of life's trials.
She had a passion for caring for her birds and flower gardening. She was an avid reader and a music lover. She played the piano, organ, and autoharp and also had a beautiful singing soprano voice. She was best known for her Love of Jesus which she freely shared with all who would listen. She was a fervent prayer warrior for family, friends, strangers, and the persecuted church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three grandchildren Benjamin, Isabella, and Christiana.
She is survived by her beloved family: daughter Gretchen (Jim) Vaughn, son Norman Porter, brother Charles Miles, brother Frank (Carole) Miles, grandchildren James (Zoie), Brennan, Abigail, Andrew, and Olivia and numerous nieces and nephews. Also remembering her dear friend Kathy Queen.
A funeral service will be held March 30, 2024, at 11:00 AM at J.L. Davis Funeral Home, 12525 Bradbury Ave., Smithsburg, MD 21783 with Dr. Stephen Nunemaker officiating. Interment will follow at Ringgold Cemetary, Ringgold MD.
Family will receive friends at 10:00 AM prior to the service.
