Grace L. Phillips, 95, of Smithsburg, MD passed away on May 31, 2020.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald in 2012 and her daughter, Karen in 1960.
She is survived by her children Beverly Phillips Snyder and husband Stephen of Middletown, PA and Gregory Phillips and wife Kathleen of Calabash, NC. She is also survived by four grandchildren and six great grandchildren - Abby Snyder Dunn, husband Micah and children Wyatt, Everett and Morgan; Lisa Snyder and daughter Hannah; Becca Snyder Martin, husband Andrew and children Archer and Maisy; and Tyler Phillips.
Born in Lansdale, PA on July 14, 1924, she was the sixth of eight children born to Richard and Mary Binder.
Grace was a loving and caring mother and grandmother; a person who loved opening her home to others and reaching out to those in need.
She was an excellent seamstress and loved tending her flower gardens. She was an active member for over 40 years at Covenant United Presbyterian Church until her health declined. She served as church secretary for much of that time. She also loved her many years as a volunteer in pediatrics at Washington County Hospital. She and her husband enjoyed square and round dancing and were members of several Hagerstown area dance clubs.
For the past eight years, Grace was a resident at Sterling Care South Mountain in Boonsboro, MD. The family is so thankful to her caregivers there for the excellent care, love and compassion shown to her.
A private family memorial will be held. Internment will follow at a later date in Ambler, PA alongside her husband and daughter.
Arrangements were made by J.L. Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg, MD, and online condolences may be offered at www.jldavisfh.com.
