Mildred Carolyn (Fleagle) Minnick Rohrer, 91, of Smithsburg, MD, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born at home in Edgemont, Washington County, MD, and was the daughter of the late Lloyd Albert Fleagle and Pearl Rosetta (Wilhide) Fleagle. Mildred was employed as a seamstress for most of her life. In her later years she worked at Cascade American Legion. In her retirement years she enjoyed hand quilting and made many quilts for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Known as “Millie” to her friends, they loved to play bingo, travel, and visit casinos. Mildred was a life member of the South Mountain Rod and Gun Club, the Blue Ridge Sportsmen’s Association, and the Cascade American Legion Auxiliary. In addition to her parents, Mildred was preceded in death by her husband Nevin Robert Rohrer, her beloved pets Angel, Mittens, and Missy. Other family members preceding Millie to Heaven were sisters, Louella Eyler, and Linda Hahn, brothers Roy (Bill), and Orville Fleagle. Mildred is survived by her brother, Terry Fleagle, daughters Rosetta Minnick, Jane (Charlie) Frey, Carolyn (Ken) Stotler, Kathy Helm, her sons, Floyd Minnick, Richard (Nancy) Minnick, Dennis (Jean) Minnick, Douglas (Joyce) Minnick, John Evans, Clay (Pam) Rohrer, and John (John) Rohrer, her sixteen beloved grandchildren; Andrea (John) Woodring, Ethan Minnick, Katie Rebecca Frey, Timothy Frey, Jessica (Keith) Griffith, Nathaniel (Heather) Minnick, Rebekah Minnick, Anthony Minnick, Nicholas (Ana) Minnick, Benjamin (Erin) Minnick, Tanner Minnick, Brandon, (Tanya) Stotler, Kasie (Tim) Martin, Clayton (Kim) Rohrer, Kelsey (Eugene) Sprout, and Hannah Rohrer. Lovingly called “Grandma” or “Mamaw,” Mildred will be greatly missed by sixteen great-grandchildren: Arianna, Bailey, Parker, Raegan, Easton, Carson, Kellan, Raigan, Thea, Quinn, Brinley, Autumn, Rowan, Jamie, Emily, and Warren. Services will be held Monday, May 23, 2022, at 10:00am at J.L. Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg, MD, with Jean Minnick officiating. Burial will be in Beaver Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
