PATRICIA ANN SLATER

Patricia Ann Slater, 89, of Smithsburg, MD, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones on Monday, May 22, 2023. Born in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Ludger and Mary Bornhorn. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Slater, and her sister, Madeline Evans.

Pat was a graduate of Towson Catholic High School. She worked at C&P Telephone in Baltimore for five years and was employed at Sears in Hagerstown for 38 years. She attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Hagerstown. She was active in the Girl Scouts and the Northern Stars Bowling League and loved gardening.

Pat is survived by four children, Cindy (Louis) Cacciola, Linda (Eric Williams) Slater, Doug (Sasha) Slater, and Kelly Slater, four grandchildren, Jaime, Chris, and Kirsten (Santana Daugherty) Cacciola, and Danil Slater, and one great grandchild, Logan Lollar.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 to 8 pm at the Davis Funeral Home in Smithsburg. Services will be held there on Friday morning at 10am.

The family would like to thank Pat’s Hospice caregivers and Meals on Wheels volunteers for their kindness.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 26, 2023, at 10:00 am, at J.L. Davis Funeral Home, 12525 Bradbury Ave, Smithsburg MD, 21783, officiated by Deacon Dan Acquard, interment to follow at Smithsburg Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Thursday, May 25, 2023, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm.
