Richard "Richie" Glenn Sowers

Richard "Richie" Glenn Sowers, 65, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away peacefully Monday, April 13, 2026 at his home, surrounded by loving family.

Born on October 20, 1960 in Hagerstown, MD, he was the son of Betty Marie (Tracey) Sowers and the late Glenn Francis Sowers.

Richie graduated from Smithsburg High School, class of 1978.

Richie worked as a Machinist for 43 years after retiring in 2021 from Landis Manufacturing in Waynesboro, PA.

Richie was a member of the ABATE Chapter 11 of Washington County.

Richie enjoyed riding motorcycles with his riding buddies, Kenny Davidson and Chuck Souders, he was a John Deere Tractor enthusiast, and loved spending time with his Grandson, Crue.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his Daughter, Ashley Horchner and husband, Dustin, of Sharpsburg, MD; Grandson, Crue; and longtime Companion, Tina Stoops.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 21, 2026 at 10 AM at J.L. Davis Funeral Home, 12525 Bradbury Ave. Smithsburg, MD 21783 with Pastor Guy Nesbitt officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown, MD.

Family will receive friends the evening prior from 6-8 PM.
