Robert William Kretsinger

Robert William Kretsinger, 92, of Smithsburg, MD, passed away Saturday, January 2, 2021 at his home. Born December 27, 1928 in Greensburg, MD, he was the son of the late Frank Newcomer Kretsinger and Iva Mae (McKinsey) Kretsinger. He was a graduate of Smithsburg High School class of 1946. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Charlotte Birney (Green) Kretsinger, daughter, Cindy Snyder and husband Alan of Kansas City, MO, son, Randy Kretsinger and wife Judith of Smithsburg, MD, six grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, sisters, Elsa Hoffman and Helen Semler and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by siblings, Grace Graybill, Margaret Sheiss, Rose Good, Catherine Kretsinger and Albert Kretsinger. Robert was employed as a farmer for several years after his marriage. He was also a part-time meat cutter at various markets and a bread truck driver. He was then employed by Mack Trucks and retired after 25 years in June of 1990. After retirement, he was employed by Brown Florist delivering flowers. Robert will always be remembered for his big smile and sense of humor. He was a longtime member of Ringgold Church of Christ. The family wishes to express a special “Thank You” to Hospice of Washington County and caregiver, Corean Freeman. Services will be held Friday, January 8, 2021 at 11:00am at Ringgold Church of Christ with Pastor Don Conley officiating. Burial will be in Ringgold Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10am – 11am, one hour prior to the service. Arrangements were made by J.L.
