Robert Lee Schildt, 90, of Waynesboro, PA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at WellSpan Waynesboro Hospital in Waynesboro, PA.
Born on May 19, 1935, in Waynesboro, PA, he was the son of the late Marjorie Viola (North) and John Robert Schildt. He was a 1953 graduate of Waynesboro Area Senior High School.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Doris Bowie; brothers, Edwin Schildt and Dennis Hurd; and aunt, Marguerite Schildt Knepper.
Bob lived most of his adult life in Washington, D.C. He took great pleasure in attending live performances including local community productions to professional shows. He cherished the energy, storytelling, and artistry they brought to life. He worked for Holiday Inn for many years as a bookkeeper.
He is survived by his brother, Jerry Schildt; and cousins, Jean Bryson and husband Rich, Katie Perov and family, and Richard C. Bryson, wife Natalie, and family.
A graveside service will be held on May 15, 2026, at 10 am at Green Hill Cemetery, 953 S. Potomac St., Waynesboro, PA 17268.
