Roy Theodore "Teddy" Hart, Jr.

Roy T. Hart, Jr. “Teddy”, born March 30, 1942 of Hagerstown, passed away at Doey’s House surrounded by his family on April 6, 2021; he was 79 years old. Teddy was a proud Vietnam Army Veteran and later joined the City of Hagerstown Police Department, retiring after 34 years as Lieutenant. Teddy also coached various sports teams through the CSL program. Teddy was a Bailiff at the Wash Co. Circuit Courthouse prior to his passing. He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Sharon Hart; two loving daughters, Terri Hart Taylor and Krista Hart; his grandchildren, Joshua, Melanie, Kelsey, and Julianna; two sisters, Susan and Marcie; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Roy and Virginia Hart, and twin brother, William Hart. The family will receive friends and other family members on April 14th from 7pm-9pm at J.L. Davis Funeral Home, 12525 Bradbury Avenue, Smithsburg. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Doey’s House, Hagerstown or the Fraternal Order of Police.
