Sara G. (Hess) Weaver

Sara G. Weaver, 97, of Edgemont, MD, passed away Tuesday, June 15, 2021, at her home. Born July 4, 1923, at Ringgold, MD, she was the daughter of the late Stover Allen Hess and Hettie G. (Pentz) Hess. She was preceded in death by her husband Denton H. Weaver December 30, 1984. They were married February 26, 1948. She was a member of Ringgold Church of Christ and the last surviving member of the original Good Neighbor Sunday School Class. She was an active donor to the American Red Cross blood drive. She was employed by Waynesboro Knitting Mill and Waynesboro Daycare. Sara is survived by daughter, Barbara A. “Babs” Weaver, son, Jeff A. Weaver and wife Debbie, sister, M. Jane Hess, grandchildren, Jeffrey Weaver, Kevin Dodds and Stephanie Dodds and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one sister, E. Kathryn Biser and four brothers, Guy S. Hess, J. Harvey Hess, Walter B. “Gabby” Hess and Merle W. “Bill” Hess, Sr. Services will be held Saturday, June 19, 2021, at 11:00am at Ringgold Church of Christ with Pastor Don Conley and Pastor David Conley officiating. Burial will be in Ringgold Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6-8pm at J.L. Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg, MD.
