Susan Lynn Hartz

Susan Lynn Hartz, 45, of Halfway, MD, passed away Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at her home. Born June 3, 1976, in Lower Paxton, Dauphin County, PA, she was the daughter of Curtis William Hovis and the late Marilyn Jean Hartz. She was a graduate of Smithsburg High School. She was a member of American Legion Post 211, ATD of Central Pennsylvania, the black Leadership Council and the Women’s Network. Susan loved motorcycle rides with her dad, was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, enjoyed the beach, karaoke, wine festivals and spending time with “her girls”, closest friends, and family. She was currently employed as a facilitator at Fiserv and as an Arbonne Consultant. In addition to her father, she is survived by son Jordan Wiles, pappy Arthur Joe, brother Curtis Hovis, sisters Chasity Hovis and Jamie Hartz, along with stepbrothers, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by uncle Jeff Hovis, grandmother Jean Joe, aunt Cindy Hartz and her nanny. There will be no viewing. A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, November 27, 2021, at 5:00pm at J.L. Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg, MD, with Pastor Tim Shirley officiating. The family will receive friends from 3-5pm before the service.
