Verda May Mohn

Mrs. Verda May (Barnhart) Mohn, 89, of Mont Alto, PA, went to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday, September 15, 2022, at her home with her family. Born October 9, 1932, in Waynesboro, PA, she was the daughter of Clyde and Mary (Reed) Barnhart. She married her beloved husband of 67 years, Edwin L. Mohn Sr. on September 3,1952. Mr. Mohn passed away on November 5, 2019. Mrs. Mohn was a homemaker most of her life. She was a very loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved Jesus with all her heart. She loved to play Parcheesi with anyone that was around. She liked to crochet, make dishcloths, she loved dolls and baking cookies. She was a member of Central Baptist Church in Mont Alto, PA. She is survived by 3 daughters, Susie (Bill) Staley, Queen City, Tx, Sunday (Victor) Gossert, Winter Haven, FL and Ellen Freeman, Mont Alto, PA, 2 sons, Solomon Mohn Sr, Baltimore, MD, and Andrew Mohn Sr, Waynesboro, PA., 8 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, 1 sister, Janet Myers, New Oxford, PA, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by one son, Edwin L. Mohn Jr, a granddaughter, Angie Daley, 3 brothers, Clyde Barnhart Jr, Robert Barnhart, and Paul Barnhart, 2 sisters, Grace Stowell and Betty J. Hoffman. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. There will be a Celebration of Life with Pastor John Buhr officiating at 1:00 pm Friday September 23, 2022, at Central Baptist Church in Mont Alto, PA.
