Cecil William Walling

Cecil W. Walling, 83, of Smithsburg, MD, passed away Friday, March 16, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born Tuesday, January 8, 1935 in Chestnut Grove, MD, he was the son of the late Joseph George Walling, Sr. and Louise Virginia (Holmes) Walling. He attended Boonsboro High School. He retired from Antietam Paper Company after serving over 39 years and was employed by the Hagerstown Community College Maintenance Department. He loved auto racing, mowing grass and working outdoors. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Dolores Louise (Roberts) Walling, children, Brenda Rodgers and husband Mike, William Walling and wife Glenda, Susie Itnyre and husband James and Cheryl Hyatt and husband Mike, bother, Dallas Walling, sister, Deborah Willard, ten grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, George Walling and Ronald Walling. Services and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
