Chad Alexander Knepper, 46, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away Thursday, January 11, 2018 in a tragic four-wheeler accident in Hedgesville, WV. Born March 16, 1971 in Hagerstown, he was the son of Edward Leon Knepper of Hagerstown and the late Sylvia Jean (Izer) Knepper. He attended Smithsburg High School. He was a heavy equipment operator for several local construction companies and was a mechanic. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, and enjoyed working on motorcycles and four-wheelers. In addition to his father Ed, Chad is survived by his step-mother, Barbara Knepper, daughter, Danille Marie Knepper Smith and husband Michael, son, Elijah Alexander Knepper, step-daughters, Amy and Kelly Shanholtz, brother, Patrick Edward Knepper and wife Mia, Sister, Michelle Knepper Deming and husband Matt, grandchildren, Kingston and Legend Smith, nephews, Josh and Andrew Knepper, niece, Lauren Dietrich, and special friend, Melissa Murry. Services will be held Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at 11:00am at Ringgold Church of Christ, Hagerstown, MD, with Pastor Don Conley officiating. Burial will be in Ringgold Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7-9pm at J.L. Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg, MD.
