Donald Eugene Socks

Donald Eugene Socks, 78, of Smithsburg, MD, passed away Friday, May 31, 2019 at Meritus Medical Center of Hagerstown, MD. Born Friday, May 23, 1941 in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Edgar Socks and Bessie (Miller) Socks. He was a graduate of South Hagerstown High School class of 1959. He was a member of Wayside Baptist Church of Leitersburg, MD. He was employed over the years by Sears, Baer Foods and retired from Frederick Produce. He loved baseball and was a coach at American Little League for 13 years. Donald is survived by his wife of 50 years, Susan (Hart) Socks whom he married December 23, 1968, son, Donald Socks and wife Michelle and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by daughter, Tawnie Parks and sister, Dolores Myers. Services will be held Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at 1:00pm at J.L. Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg, MD, with Pastor Jeremy Kitchen officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Hagerstown, MD. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
