Erma Irena (Sprecher) Hartle

Erma Irena Hartle, 96, of Smithsburg, MD, passed away Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at Williamsport Nursing Home in Williamsport, MD. Born Thursday, February 9, 1922 in Cearfoss, MD, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Lee Sprecher and Emma Minerva (Smith) Sprecher. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Exstine Hartle September 8, 1981. She was a member of Christ Reformed United Church of Christ of Cavetown, MD. She was a homemaker. Erma is survived by one daughter-in-law, Nancy Hartle, one grandson, Patrick Hartle and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sons, Dewey Lee Hartle and Sidney Wayne Hartle, one daughter-in-law, Linda Hartle, four siblings, Louise Pittenger, Clara Wilson, Joseph Sprecher and Rolland “Runt” Sprecher and one grandson, Sidney Hartle. There will be no viewing. Services will be held Monday, November 19, 2018 at 11:00am at J.L. Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg, MD, with Rev. Kenneth D. Fuller officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends from 10-11am, one hour prior to the service.
