James Ruben "Jim" McAfee

James R. “Jim” McAfee, 84, of Foxville, MD, passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at his home. Born October 11, 1935 at Foxville, MD, he was the son of the late Robert Hunter McAfee and Minnie Nora (Delauter) McAfee. He attended Thurmont High School. He served in the United States Army National Guard. Jim was a member of Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church of Foxville. He built countless homes for many people in the area and was a very talented carpenter. He enjoyed hunting mushrooms and hunting deer. He loved to farm but most of all, loved the Lord and his family. He was employed over the years by Hamilton Homes, Morgan and Keller Construction, Mooreland Homes, he was a Frederick County Building Inspector and finished his career with J.T. McAfee General Contractors. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, M. Pauline (Hays) McAfee whom he married October 17, 1954, daughter, Paula Bowman and husband Tim, son, Tim McAfee and wife Robin, grandchildren, Crystina Warner and husband Michael, Matthew Bowman and wife Dana, Dan McAfee and wife Colleen, Grace McAfee and Ruby McAfee, great-grandchildren, Faith Warner, Will Warner, J.D. Bowman, Elijah Bowman, Elizabeth McAfee, Zoe McAfee and Emilia McAfee, brother, Robert McAfee and wife Dorothy and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Louise Clabaugh. Services will be held Monday, November 4, 2019 at 11:00am at Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church, Foxville, MD, with Pastors Julie Brigham and Todd Rigney officiating. Burial will be in Brown’s Cemetery, Foxville, MD. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6-8pm at J.L. Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg, MD.
