Jean Catherine (Himes) Beaver

Jean C. Beaver, 89, of Smithsburg, MD, passed away Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at her home. Born Tuesday, August 28, 1928 in Edgemont, MD, she was the daughter of the late Clifford Glenn Himes, Sr. and Mary Grace (Kindle) Himes. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Amos Beaver, Sr., April 4, 1993. She attended Smithsburg area Schools. She retired from Washington County Hospital after serving over 30 years as a nursing aid. Jean is survived by daughters, Barbara Jean Vaughn and husband Tom, Robyn L. Shafer and Sylvia A. Eichelberger and husband Leonard, sons, Floyd A. “Sam” Beaver, Jr. and wife Deborah and Dean A. Beaver and wife Sally, brother, Russell F. Himes, eleven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and extended family. Jean was preceded in death by sisters, Margaret V. Guessford, Nancy E. Hays and Louise Yingling and brothers, Howard W. “Bill” Himes and Clifford G. Himes, Jr. Services will be held Monday, June 4, 2018 at 10:00am at J.L. Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg, MD, with Pastor Allen Youngbar officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown, MD. The family will receive friends Sunday, June 3, 2018 from 2-4pm at the funeral home.
