Joan Dolores (Palmer) Williams

Joan D. Williams, 75, of Smithsburg, MD, passed away Friday, September 28, 2018 at Hospice of Washington County, Doey’s House, of Hagerstown, MD. Born Sunday, November 22, 1942 in Hagerstown, MD, she was the daughter of the late Albert G. Palmer and Lillie M. (Shupp) Palmer. She was a graduate of South Hagerstown High School, class of 1960. Joan was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Smithsburg, MD, and the North American Rod and Gun Club Ladies Auxiliary of Hagerstown. She was an Avon sales Representative for over 30 years. Joan is survived by her husband of 56 years, H. Wayne Williams whom she married June 3, 1962, daughter, Valerie Williams Zapiec and grandson, Joseph Zapiec. She was preceded in death by son-in-law, Gregory Zapiec and grandson, John Wayne Zapiec. Services will be held Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at 11:00am at Trinity Lutheran Church, Smithsburg, MD, with Pastor Virgil Cain officiating. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family in Rose Hill Cemetery, Hagerstown, MD. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6-9pm at J.L. Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg, MD.
