John Booth Thomson, 81, of Frederick, MD, passed away Saturday, July 28, 2018 at Kline Hospice House of Mt. Airy. Born August 27, 1936 in Washington DC, he was the son of the late Pat and Frances Thomson.
He served in the United States Army for 4.5 years.
As a member of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Frederick (UUCF), he participated in the choir. John had a deep passion for music.He played the piano, organ, and trumpet and enjoyed singing with choral groups throughout his life. Traveling, gardening, photography, and spending time at the beach were favorite activities.
John is survived by Sue Thomson, his wife of 47 years and many wonderful friends. His dog Katrina will dearly miss him.
A Celebration of John’s life will be held Saturday, August 18, 2PM at UUCF, located at 4880 Elmer Derr Road, 21703, Frederick, MD. A reception will be held after the service.
The family would like to thank Citizens Care and Rehab Center, Hospice of Frederick County, Dr. Nikki Ho, Dr. Michael Costello for their exceptional care provided and the Junior Fire Company for their assistance during John’s illness.
Memorial donations can be sent to UUCF, or flowers will be graciously received.
