Kara Diane (Shirley) Dunlap

Kara Diane Dunlap, 45, of Smithsburg, Maryland, daughter of Carol L. (Shirley) Martin and the late Donald L. Shirley, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Tuesday, October 2, 2018. She was a 1990 graduate of Clear Spring High School. Currently, she was employed by Abeo in Frederick, Maryland. Kara was a loving wife for eight years to Cliff Dunlap. Cliff and Kara enjoyed traveling, camping and fishing together. She is survived by her daughter, Chelsea E. (Tedrick) Brereton and son-in-law, Brandon Brereton. Also, she is survived by a brother, Kirk S. Shirley and his fiancé, Debbie Kern and many aunts, uncles, nieces and cousins. She was predeceased by infant brother, Kraig S. Shirley, paternal grandparents, Ralph and Catherine Shirley, and maternal grandparents, Albert and Ida Blanche Hull. She will greatly be missed by her fur baby, Jasper, the cat, whom she loved dearly. Kara had a love for God and her family. Services will be held Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at 3:00pm at J.L. Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg, MD, with Pastor Virgil Cain officiating. Burial will be in Smithsburg Cemetery following the service. The family will receive friends from 1-3pm prior to the service.
