Lois Martin Strite

Lois Martin Strite, 82, of Hagerstown, MD, and formerly of Clearville, PA, passed away Friday, March 8, 2019 at Maugansville Mennonite Home, Maugansville, MD. Born Friday, July 24, 1936 near Leitersburg, MD, she was the daughter of the late John Menno Strite and Mildred Mae (Martin) Strite. She was a member of Flintstone Mennonite Church, Flintstone, MD. In her younger years, she was a maid and caregiver. She is survived by one brother, Lester Strite of Waynesboro, PA, four sisters, Margaret Halteman of Hagerstown, MD, Martha Halteman of Clear Spring, MD, Grace Eby of Greencastle, PA, and Alice Halteman of Clear Spring, MD, twenty nieces and nephews and numerous great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces and great-great nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother, James Strite of Manheim, PA, and one niece. Services will be held Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at 10:00am at Stouffers Mennonite Church, Greensburg, MD, with Stouffers Ministries officiating. Burial will follow in Stouffers Mennonite Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, March 11, 2019 from 5:00 – 8:00pm at the church and Tuesday one hour prior to the service.
