Mary Virginia Lantz, 96, of Dillsburg, PA and formerly of Gettysburg, PA, passed away Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Holy Spirit Hospital of Camp Hill, PA.
Born Wednesday, June 15, 1921 in Lantz, MD, she was the daughter of the late James Arthur McKissick and Catherine Emmaline (Wetzel) McKissick.
She was a member of Deerfield United Methodist Church for 82 years joining in 1935, Blue Ridge Sportsmen’s Association and American Legion Auxiliary of Emmitsburg.
She retired from Thurmont Shoe Factory after 42 years of service.
She is survived by one daughter, Patricia “Tena” Lantz Minnich and husband Fred, grandchildren, Delora Minnich, Milt Lantz, Melinda Wetzel and Greg Lantz and several great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her companion of 30 years, Maurice Felix, son, Frank Lantz, granddaughter, Gwen Lantz and grandson, Bradley D. Minnich, brother, Eugene McKissick and sisters, Elsie McKissick Wetzel and Betty Lou McKissick Brown.
Services will be held Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at 12:00pm at Deerfield United Methodist Church, 16405 Foxville-Deerfield Rd. Sabillasville, MD, 21780 with Pastor Ray Dudley officiating. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Cemetery, Thurmont, MD.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in memory of Mary Lantz to, Hospice of Central PA, 1320 Linglestown Rd. Harrisburg, PA, 17110 or to a charity of one’s choice.
