Stephen Carroll Leatherman, 71, a life-long resident and proud member of the Wolfsville, MD, community, passed away Sunday, May 20, 2018 at his home. Born Wednesday, April 23, 1947 in Hagerstown, MD, he was the son of the late Carroll Charles Leatherman and Rebecca Louise (Shank) Leatherman. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 9 years, Carolyn “Cookie” Kline-Leatherman whom passed away February 11, 2017. They were married March 30, 2007. He was a graduate of Middletown High School, class of 1965. He was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church of Wolfsville. Stephen was a simple man with a big heart. He was deeply rooted and involved in the Wolfsville community and loved being a life-long resident of his Wolfsville Mountain Family. He was employed by Berlo Vending as a plant manager and retired from Noland Electric of Frederick, MD. Stephen is survived by two brothers, Mark Leatherman and wife Merrilee Harrigan of Washington, DC, and Thomas Leatherman, Sr. of Wolfsville, one nephew, Tommy Leatherman and wife Hillary and two nieces, Rhonda Wastler and husband Jared and Blythe Leatherman. Services will be held Thursday, May 24, 2018 at 10:00am at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Wolfsville, with Pastor David Howell officiating. Burial will be in St. Mark’s Lutheran Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 23, 2018 from 6-8pm at J.L. Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg, MD.
