Suzanne Lynn (Snyder) Short

May 4, 1948 ~ April 14, 2019 (age 70)
Suzanne L. Short, 70, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away Sunday, April 14, 2019 at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown. Born Tuesday, May 4, 1948 in Hagerstown, MD, she was the daughter of the late Eugene Porter Snyder and Marion Louise (Sheesly) Snyder who she is now rejoicefully reunited with once again in heaven. She is survived by her only son, Damon Paul Dietrich who was the light of her life, her darling granddaughter Kayla Mercedes Dietrich, one sister and best friend Donna Armstrong, nieces Cheryl Bussard and Crista Armstrong, life-long best friend Sharon Stewart, several nieces and nephews, her beloved dog Beau, and parrots Mollie, Max, Hannah, Jasper, and Hoby. She was preceded in death by one son, Randy Eugene Dietrich who only lived on this earth for 15 days, husband David L. Short, and one brother Thomas Alan Snyder. She was retired from the United States Census Bureau, and also worked for the Maryland Historical Trust and Washington County Planning and Zoning Commission. Suzanne always had a song in her heart and a passion for all of humanity. She was nature’s best friend. She had a way of making people realize just how lucky we are to live here on this earth and to love the land, animals, people and just live a happy life. She was such a fun genuine spirit and was always ready for an adventure, ghost hunting, big foot finding, hiking, tubing, rock hunting, dancing, having drinks together, gardening, staring at the star. Whatever it may have been, she was ready. There was never a dull moment with her. She was the life of the party and surely one of a kind. She had a laugh that was contagious and a presence that filled the room. There will be no viewing. The family will receive friends at their convenience to celebrate her life and her new adventure down the sunny path of the unknown. She will be with us in spirit always but will be physically missed more than anything in this world. Life here on earth will never be the same without her, but we will remember her for the beautiful soul she was and the light she always shined everywhere she went. Arrangements were made by J.L.
