Virginia Irene (Boyer) Gilbert

Virginia Irene Gilbert, 66, of Myersville, MD, passed away Saturday, July 28, 2018 at her home. Born Tuesday, October 9, 1951 in Frederick, MD, she was the daughter of the late James and Gertrude (Ford) Boyer. She attended Thomas Johnson High School of Frederick, MD. She was employed by Amvets Post 9 of Middletown, MD, Giant Eagle of Frederick, MD, and Barbara Fritchie Restaurant of Frederick, MD. Virginia is survived by her husband of 46 years, Dennis Wayne Gilbert, son, Chuck Magoun and wife Wanda, sisters, Patsy Miller, Susie Hislop, Robin Smith and Dolly Norton, brothers, Shadow James Boyer and Robert Boyer, grandsons, William Magoun and Ryan Magoun, great-granddaughter, Allie Magoun and numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be held Friday, August 3, 2018 at 11:00am at J.L. Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg, MD, with Pastor Rodney Burdette officiating. Burial will be in Harmony Cemetery, Myersville, MD. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
