It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Alan Decker. Born on February 4, 1950, he left us on November 23, 2025. Alan was a beloved figure in his community, known for his helpful nature, entrepreneurial spirit, and passion for drag racing.
A lifelong fan of Elvis Presley, Alan brought an energy and rhythm to life that was as infectious as the music he listened to. His favorite pastime was drag racing. While a 1995 accident may have taken him off the track, his passion for the sport remained with him for a lifetime.
Among Alan's many accomplishments, the one he was most proud of was founding and running his own business, Decker's Market (best fried chicken around, you can ask anyone who has ever had it). He ran his business with his generous spirit, using it as a platform to help out his local community and leaving a lasting legacy of kindness and community service.
Alan was predeceased by his beloved wife, Virginia Decker. He is survived by his sons, Alan, Michael, and Mark Decker, and his many beloved grandchildren, Paige Knott, Alexander, Gavyn, Gage, Brandon, Jade, Chloe, Grace, Lily, and Jackson Decker, Morgan and Matthew Killen, and Caleb Peddicord. Each has inherited a piece of Alan's dynamic spirit and will carry his legacy forward.
The celebration of Alan Decker's life will be held on December 4, 2025, at 6-8PM at Davis Funeral Homes Inc. We invite all those who knew and loved Alan to join us in remembering this extraordinary man, his love for life, and his dedication to the wellbeing of his community.
