BEATRIZ "TITI" ORTEGA

Beatriz “Titi” Ortega of Thurmont, MD passed away on April 7th at the age of 76 of after a long battle with pulmonary fibrosis.

Beatriz was born in 1947 in Guatemala City.

She was highly regarded in her community for her leadership and devotion to education. She graduated from prestigious universities in Guatemala with degrees in Psychology, Pedagogy, Business and Teaching.

She was the founder and principal of school Colegio Bilingue Mundo Infantil y Cientifico Americano, and had an outstanding career that lasted nearly 50 years.

Her pride was in her school and students, as she shared her passion for teaching and learning with thousands of children over the years.

She is survived by her kids: Manuel, Alex, Marco Arriaga, Karin and Anthony Toth, and grandkids: Ximena, Pablo, Adriana Archila, and Mia Toth.

A Funeral Mass will be held Friday April 19, 2024, at 11:00 am at St. Anthony Shrine, 16150 St. Anthony Rd #5, Emmitsburg, MD 21727. 

Family will receive friends Thursday April 18, 2024, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at J.L. Davis Funeral Home, 12525 Bradbury Ave, Smithsburg, MD 21783. 

We will miss her contagious laugh and her beautiful spirit.   Rest in peace Titi! Until we meet again.
