Obituary
Betty Jane Moats, 87, of Smithsburg, MD, passed away on Friday, August 4, 2023, at Sterling Care in Boonsboro, MD.
Born June 19, 1936, in Garfield, MD, she was the daughter of the late Charles B. Neal and Beulah E. (Rudy) Neal.
She was employed at Kemp Horn Training Center for 15 years, and Avalon Manor Nursing Home for 23 years as a certified medicine attendant.
Betty is survived by her husband, who she married on June 19, 1956, Dale Terry Moats Sr., sons, Dale Terry Moats Jr. of Ohio, and Charles E. V. Moats of Smithsburg, MD, sister Patricia Ann Shindledecker of Smithsburg, MD, and brother, John W. Neal of Smithsburg, MD.
In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her brother, Charles E. Neal.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
