Barbara Kay (Avey) Weller

Barbara Kay Weller, 75, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away peacefully Thursday, January 16, 2025 at Meritus Medical Center, Hagerstown, MD, surrounded by loving family.

Born on September 29, 1949 in Hagerstown, MD, she was the daughter of the late Elise Arvella (Sampsell) and Fred T. Avey, Jr.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a Son, Michael Weller, Grandson, Kody Lacey and Brother, Ronald Avey, Sr.

Barbara graduated from North Hagerstown High School, class of 1967.

Barbara worked for TFX Marine, Maryland Ribbon and Kings Department Store, but most recently was employed by Securitas as a Security Guard until her retirement just one year ago.

Barbara was a member of Funkstown American Legion, Post 211 Ladies' Auxillary.

Barbara enjoyed watching her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren and spending time with family.

She is survived by her Son, Curtis Stevenson of Blue Ridge Summit, PA; Daughters Stefanie Stevenson of Hagerstown, MD and Nicole Weller of Berryville, VA; Grandchildren, Kasey and Jessica Sease, Justin and Kyle Stevenson, Kayla and Blace Shatzer, and Bryan and Brantley Weller; 2 Great Grandchildren, Adalynn and Kingston; Sister, Linda Cavenee (Kim); Nephews, Lee B. Hebb and Ronald Avey, Jr.; Niece, Sondra Cardullo; and numerous Cousins.

A viewing will be held Thursday, January 23, 2025 from 6-8 PM at J.L. Davis Funeral Home, 12525 Bradbury Ave. Smithsburg, MD 21783.
