Betty Jane (Beard) Snook

Betty Jane Snook of Williamsport, MD formerly of Smithsburg MD, went to be with her Lord and Savior on 1/30/2026. She passed peacefully surrounded by children at Meritus Medical Center after a brief illness.

She was the daughter of William Glenn and Marie Diehl Sprague Bead. She was preceded in death by her husband Larry Snook and brothers Marshall (Bud) Beard, Ralph Beard, Robert Earl Beard, Glenn Allen Beard, Garland Beard, sisters Elsie Beard, Dorthy (Dot) Shelley, and Ethel Hilderbrand.

She is survived by her children Teresa Deckert and husband Jonathan of Palm Harbor, FL, Timothy Snook and wife Susan of NJ; Tracey Snook of Smithsburg MD; Todd C. Snook and wife Jennifer of Williamsport MD; grandchildren Aryn and great granddaughter Hailey of NJ; Kye Fallone of NJ, Alex Ringquist of Hagerstown MD; Leah, Ella and Andrew Snook of Williamsport MD. She is also survived by brother Larry (Duff) Beard and numerous nieces and nephews.

Betty was a dedicated employee of WHAG TV and later employed for 27 years by Citicorp Hagerstown, retiring in 2014.

Viewing will be held Wednesday 2/4 6-8pm at Davis Funeral Home, 12525 Bradbury Ave. Smithsburg, MD. Funeral service will be held on Thursday 2/5 at 10am at Zion Lutheran Church, 35 W. Potomac St. Williamsport MD. Graveside service on Friday 2/6 at 11am at Smithsburg Cemetery, 68 W. Water St. Smithsburg MD.

Memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society of Washington County MD.
