CHARLES RICHARD DEWEES

Charles Richard (Rich) Dewees of Thurmont passed away on Monday, April 15, 2024. Rich was born in Franklinville on September 13, 1945. He was the son of Ray M. and Hazel Hewitt Dewees.

In addition to his wife, Judy, Rich is survived by his sons Scott (Heather), Shawn (Angela) and a daughter Stephanie.

He is survived by his grandchildren, the light of his life, Cody, Megan (Andrew), Madison, Nevaeh, Nehemiah, Noah, Katie (Chris), Tory and Savannah.

He is also survived by 3 brothers, Bobby (Betty Ann), Harvey (Mary) and Tommy (Linda).

Rich started his company, C. Richard Dewees Oil Company in 1970, which in addition to his family, he took a great deal of pride in. Now his son Scott and grandson Cody will continue his legacy.

His care has been entrusted to the J. L. Davis Funeral Home of Smithsburg. As per Rich’s request, there will be no viewing or calling at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in his memory to the Thurmont Little League which has held a special place in his heart for many, many years.
