Chester Eugene Wyand, 84, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2024, after a brief stay at Fahrney-Keedy Nursing Home.
Born June 17, 1939, he was the son of the late Leon Noble and Cora Catherine (Huffer) Wyand.
He was a 1957 graduate of Boonsboro High School.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Lorrena Ann (Moser) Wyand. He is survived by one daughter, Katrina Wyand-Yurish and husband, Pete, one son, Curtis Wyand and wife, Sheree all of Boonsboro; two grandsons, Calleb Yurish and Calvin Wyand; and one brother Charles Edward Wyand and wife Alethea.
He was employed for over 25 years with Washington County Public Schools as custodial engineer and also worked for DM Bowman driving tractor-trailers for many years, post-retirement he worked for AC&T Convenience Stores. Chester enjoyed driving and would often drive friends and family on vacations to various destinations in the US. His fun-loving personality and sense of humor brought a smile to everyone he encountered.
Visitation for a Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024, between 3:30 - 5:00 pm at the fellowship hall of Boonsboro Bible Church.
Memorial donations may be made to Fahrney-Keedy Nursing Home in lieu of flowers.
