On Tuesday night, December 17, 2019, Carolyn Diane Heimberger, 70, of Tilghmanton, MD, went home to be with her Lord & Savior, While at rest at her home, under the care of Hospice of Washington County.
Born February 15, 1949 in Hagerstown, she was the oldest of two daughters Born to Freda (Jones) Dayton and the late Floyd “Dukes” Dayton of Fairplay.
She was a 1967 graduate of south Hagerstown high school.
Carolyn was an employee of WD Byron Tanning for 28 years, in addition to working post retirement for Homewood Nursing, and as a substitute teacher, known as “Mrs. H.”
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Carolyn Christine, and her aunt, Edna Dayton.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of 52 years, Robert (Bob) Heimberger of Tilghmanton, Sons R. Shawn (Cherie) Heimberger and Michael Shane (Kari) Heimberger, All of Hagerstown; Grandchildren Ryan, Jeffrey, Ashley, Rachael, Dalton and Donavan; Three Great Grandchildren Gracelyn, Alaina, and River; Sister Barb Maloy (Merle) and her children Tracy and “bub” Maloy, plus countless nieces and nephews.
Additional survivors on husband side: Mother in Laws Alice and Charlotte, Sister and brother in laws, Diane (Lester) Hoffman, Kathy (Brent) Watson, Daniel (Joan), Terry (Becky), James (Tiffany), Oral (Iris) and Russell Heimberger of Ashland, Ohio, plus countless nieces and nephews.
Per her wishes, there will be no viewing or funeral; Instead the family will announce “Celebration” of her life after the Christmas holidays, with details to follow imminently.
