Charles Edward “Eddie” Fishack, 77, of Waynesboro, PA passed away on November 20, 2019. Born on August 28, 1942, he was the son of the late Charles D. Fishack, Jr. and Louisa Haupt Fishack.
He was a 1960 graduate of Smithsburg High School and attended the University of Maryland at College Park. He was a member of the U.S. Army Reserves and St. Paul Lutheran Church, Funkstown, MD. Eddie was an avid sports fan and enjoyed golf and bowling. He was a member of the Hagerstown Elks Lodge 378, American Legion Post 42, Smithsburg Lions Club and the Eagles Club of Waynesboro. Eddie was a longtime employee of Maryland Maid Kitchens, where he later served as Vice President. He had a lifetime passion for woodworking and cabinetry.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara W. Fishack, of Waynesboro, PA. They celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary on February 8, 2019. He is also survived by his daughter, Pamela J. Huntzberry and husband Brad of Smithsburg, MD, daughter Anne M. Linn and husband Eric of Smithsburg, MD, grandchildren Kyle W. Huntzberry of New York, NY, Kayla M. Huntzberry, Tyler D. Linn, Austin M. Linn, Ryan A. Linn, Blake W. Linn and Zachary T. Linn, all of Smithsburg, MD, a sister, Julianne F. Harp and husband David of Smithsburg, MD, a niece and several nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, November 24, 2019 at J.L. Davis Funeral Home in Smithsburg, MD. A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 25, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Funkstown, MD. Pastor Lee Brumback will officiate. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to American Parkinson Disease Association, 135 Parkinson Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10305 or St. Paul Lutheran Church, 24 E. Baltimore Street, P.O. Box 148, Funkstown, MD 21734.
The family would like to thank Tammy and Joyce of Visiting Angels in Waynesboro, PA, the staff of Williamsport Retirement Village and the staff of Hospice of Washington County for their loving care.
