Clifton Linwood Muritz

Clifton Linwood Muritz, 83, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away peacefully Monday, December 29, 2025 at Fahrney-Keedy Nursing Home, Boonsboro, MD, surrounded by loving family.

Born on September 17, 1942 in Hagerstown, MD, he was the son of the late Barbara Alberta (Beck) and Donald Clifton Muritz.

Clifton graduated from Smithsburg High School, class of 1960.

Clifton was a dairy farmer most of his life, however retired from MCI-Hagerstown as a Grounds Maintenance Officer.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Patricia A. (Ebersole) Muritz; Daughter, Caroline Whitted; Grandson, Taylor Whitted (Paige); Great Granddaughters, Lainey and Rachel; Brothers, Phillip Muritz (Charlotte) and Irvin Muritz (Toni); Sister, Joann Cowden (Don); and numerous Nieces and Nephews.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, January 10, 2026 at 11 AM at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 21513 Leitersburg Smithsburg Rd. Hagerstown, MD 21742 with Pastor Mike Ross officiating. Interment will follow in Leitersburg Cemetery, Hagerstown, MD.

Family will receive friends Friday, January 9, 2026 from 6-8 PM at J.L. Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg, MD.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, or to the charity of one's choice.
