Constance Gloria (Bailey) "Connie" Bell

Constance Gloria Bell, 83, of Smithsburg, MD, passed away Monday, September 13, 2021, at Ravenwood Assisted Living in Hagerstown, MD. Born October 6, 1937, in Waynesboro, PA, she was the daughter of the late Edward William Bailey, Sr. and Kathryn Louise (Bricker) Bailey. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Bell. She attended Waynesboro High School. She was a member of St. Paul’s Free Lutheran Church in Leitersburg, MD. She was employed by Brook Lane Health Services for 35 years. She enjoyed volunteering at Ravenwood Lutheran Home and loved to go fishing and crabbing with her family. She is survived by her three children, Julie Fitz (Don), Richard Barlup, Jr. (Jane), and Shari Metzger (Rick), previous husband and father of her children, Richard Barlup, Sr., one brother, Edward Bailey, Jr. (Carolyn), one sister, Faye Benshoff (Robin), six grandchildren, Jason (Ruby), Joel (Megan), Taylor (Courtney), Trevor (Elaine), Jennifer (Billy), and Logan (Briana), twelve great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held Friday, September 17, 2021, at 10:00am at J.L. Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg, MD, with Pastor Terry Culler officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown, MD. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
