Craig Allen Smith, 36 of Smithsburg, MD passed away on January 26, 2020 at his home. Born February 23, 1983, in Hagerstown MD, Craig was the son of Gary and Teresa Smith of Smithsburg MD. He graduated from Smithsburg High School in 2001, he attended HCC and Salisbury University. He was employed at Hadley Farms in Smithsburg MD where he worked night shift as a line lead for production, previously employed as a floor technician at B and B Blasters of Clear Spring MD. Craig was a devoted fan to multiple sports, he was most loyal to the Washington Wizards, Nationals, Redskins and Capitals. He will be remembered for his ability to make people laugh and for being a loving uncle to his nephew. He was proceeded in death by his Grandfathers Calvin W. Smith Sr, Landon Lewis, Uncles Bill Smith, Tony Lewis and cousin Josh Lewis, as well as his aunt Judy Huntzberry. In addition to his parents he is survived by his sister Kara Acre and her husband Joe and nephew Ryker of Falling Waters, WV, maternal grandmother JoAnn Lewis of Hagerstown, paternal grandmother Anna Smith of Smithsburg, Two Uncles, Daryl Lewis and his wife Lindsay, Mike Lewis and wife Dawn, along with his cousins, Chase, Layden, Shelby and Sheldon. A memorial service will be held on Saturday February 1, 2020 at 11 am, the family will welcome friends an hour prior to the service at J.L. Davis Funeral Home in Smithsburg MD, George Traub officiating. Following the service everyone is welcome to the Smithsburg Fire Hall to celebrate Craig’s life with his family. The family encourages those who would like to wear their favorite sports team’s apparel in remembrance of Craig’s love for all thing’s sports.
