Cynthia Jeanie (Weibel) Starzyk

Cynthia Jeanie Starzyk, 61, of Smithsburg, MD, passed away Sunday, August 8, 2021, at Hospice of Washington County, Doey’s House, in Hagerstown, MD. Born September 22, 1959, in Hagerstown, MD, she was the daughter of Vivian (Green) Hansen of Cromwell, CT, and the late James “Jim” Weibel, Jr. She was a graduate of South Hagerstown High School. Shortly after moving to Connecticut, she graduated from Middlesex Community College with an AA Degree in Science. She worked in the Plating Industry for many years. After returning to Smithsburg, MD, to care for her father in 2005, she graduated from Hagerstown Community College in 2012 with an AA Degree in Applied Science Biotechnology. Cindi enjoyed vacationing and camping in North Turtle Beach, MA. She was an avid NASCAR fan, especially Jimmie Johnson. In addition to her mother, Cindy is survived by her husband of 30 years, Michael E. Starzyk, daughter, Krystal Stains of Hagerstown, son, James Cross and his family of Meriden, CT, stepson, Michael J. Starzyk and his family of New Britain, CT, stepson, Christopher Starzyk of Albuquerque, NM, niece, Stacy Burgess and her family of Cromwell, CT, and seven grandchildren. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by one sister, Melinda McGurl. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements were made by J.L.
