David “Linwood” Stockman passed peacefully on Sunday, January 28th at Doey’s house.
He was the husband of Rhonda Stockman. They were married June 23,1985.
Born in Frederick on February 26, 1946, he was the son of the late Ruben “Duke” and Frances Engle Stockman.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children David Stockman and wife April, Dean Stockman Sr. and wife Sheila, Danny Stockman and wife Lori, January Gray and husband Josh, and Jared Shoop and wife Nancy. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Darlene Stockman and father-in-law Charles Eaves. 13 grandchildren Kristofer, David “Ryan”, DJ, Brendon, Savanna, Natalie, Sheryl, Wyatt, Whitney, Seth, Avrey “Little Duke”, Sophie and Sebastian and several nieces and nephews. Twin great grandchildren due in March.
He was predeceased by his Brother Richard Eugene “Dick” Stockman who he often referred to as his hero.
He was a Vietnam Veteran who served in the US Army from 1968-70 and was a combat engineer. After the Army he was a carpenter by trade and worked for various construction companies as superintendent. His last employer was Leidos, and the family would like to thank them for their kindness during this difficult time. He was a family man and lit up around his children and grandchildren. He loved visiting the mountains of WV and playing many Skipbo games with his wife. He enjoyed watching the Ravens and the Orioles. He also had many pets throughout the years and loved walking his granddog Charley.
There will be a celebration of life in the near future and will be announced at a later date. Please donate to your favorite animal charity in memory of Linwood.
