DAVID "WALLY" WILES Obituary

David "Wally" Alan Wiles, 65, of Smithsburg, MD, passed away peacefully Monday, March 24, 2025, at his home, surrounded by loving family.

 

Born on April 25, 1959, in Frederick, MD, he was the son of the late Gloria G. (Gouker) and Harold John Wiles.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Beth Ann Taylor, and Brother-in-Law, Chester Stone.

 

Wally was employed by Leidos Biomedical Research at Fort Dietrick fort 24 years.

 

Wally was a member of Williamsport Red Men, Lodge #84, and Frederick Moose Lodge #347.

 

Wally enjoyed playing Horseshoes, Pool, Cornhole, doing side jobs, singing in the basement and dancing. He also enjoyed building model cars and helping his friend Ray work on a 1965 Ford Mustang. He was a fan of watching Nascar races with his wife, and his favorite racer was Jimmy Johnson

 

He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Sherry E. (Souders) Wiles; Daughter, Candi Wiles; Grandchildren, Ciera Wise (Ryan Wetzel), Edward Wise, Jr., Alivia Taylor and Wesley Taylor; Siblings, Sandy Bidle (Ralph), Faye Wise (Bobby), Mike Wiles (Barbara), Timmy Wiles (Judy), Susie Stone, Dawn Bailer (Joe) and John Wiles (Faith); and many Nieces and Nephews.

 

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, April 5, 2025, from 12-2 PM at J.L. Davis Funeral Home, 12525 Bradbury Ave. Smithsburg, MD 21783.
